A very excellent game, Starcraft has been out a long time, but it is still a very cool game. It is the story of the war between three species: the zerg, the protoss, and the terrans.
The protoss are a highly advanced and psychic civilization. Having recently recovered from a civil war lasting many generations, they've discovered the terrans on the edge of their space. But the zerg are looming on the horizon. The protoss know something dangerous is coming. The few specimens they've acquired show that the zerg were created by the same specie that created the protoss themselves, the Xel`Naga.
The zerg are a biological menace bent on the assimilation of the strong and the death of the weak. Having destroyed their creators, the Xel`Naga, the zerg discovered the Xel`Nagas' previous creation, the protoss, and sought to destroy them. They fear the protoss psychic ability, and spread through space, getting ever closer to protoss space, looking for a solution to deal with the psychic powers of the protoss. That's when they discovered the terrans.
The terrans are, essentially, humans. Many prisoners from earth were to be exiled to a planet for colonization purposes, but when their ships malfunctioned, they crash-landed on a strange world. From there, they were able to build up a new society in their far reaches of the galaxy. But the outside colonies of terran space is being attacked by the zerg, and protoss fleets come to destroy everything on the planet, zerg and terran alike. The terrans have become caught in a war between the zerg and the protoss, and are also caught in the middle of a civil war.
Replays
With the new "save replay" addition in version 1.08, you can now watch Starcraft games without the danger of being rushed by a computer.
3v1 CPU, Allies dropped.rep(22k) is a game I played online while I was still loyal to the zerg. Both my allies got dropped from the game, but I still took out the cpu, but that's no feat because this cpu seemed to be pretty stupid.
2v1 Cpu attack.rep(29k) is a game I played immediatly after the above game just to try another massive zergling attack. If the computer had rushed me instead of my ally, I would have died.
4 bros vs 1 cpu.rep(109k) is a game me and my brothers played against a single (and stupid) computer. This is before I discovered my favorite rush strategy.
To Analyze.rep(20k) is the first time I played with my favorite rush strategy. It's named "to analyze" because the strategy worked weird, and I wanted to study it more and find more efficient ways to play it.
To Analyze2.rep(19k) is the second time I played with my favorite rush strategy. I played this one after analyzing the previous game, and made some slight improvements.
To Analyze3.rep(33k) is a game I played after playing my favorite rush strategy on-line an entire evening. The next day, I made this little map because I wanted to see how well it would work on an island hop map. This replay also uses my favorite rush strategy.
Damn fast, Gigafrost!.rep(66k) is the first online game I played with my favorite rush strategy. It is called this because of what all my allies kept saying while i was doing it.
Giga and Final Kick Ass!(54k) is a game I played online with my best friend. We both used my favorite rush strategy and we hit the computer very hard. But had one of us been hit by the computer's rush, we might not have both survived.
Giga and Final xmen evolve.rep(61k) is just a simple game of x-men evolve that me and Finalfrost played together the night after we discovered my favorite rushing strategy.
Gigafrost kicks butt.rep(56k) is a game I played where my allies, while skilled in their own way, were simply way too slow and I ended up killing the cpus.
3 bros kill 2 cpu2.rep(56k) is a game me and my brothers Joe and George play. Poor George got rushed by the computer.
3 bros vs 1 cpu - easy win.rep(54k) is an easy game that me, Joe, and George played immediatly after the above game (because George was feeling worthless and we wanted him to feel better). George attempted to copy my favorite rush strategy *somewhat* but was unable to keep up.
4 bros kill 1 cpu.rep(57k) is a game played immediatly after the above one, except this time, my brother David (Megafrost) joined the fray. I got rushed by the cpu...
Emmitt,Joe,Andrew,Eric v 2c.rep(58k) is a game me, my brother Joe, and two of Joe's friend played over our LAN. Stormshock is Andrew, and Butts is Eric.
Damn fast, Crazyman!.rep(76k) is a game my friend, SJE-Pfc4-Crazy (also known as Ccrraazzyyman) tried my favorite rush strategy for the first time. It is a simple 2on2 game. Yes, purple is on the other team. The reason he wasn't killed was simple: he begged for his life, and it was spared. His ally didn't fare so well...
Crazy and Giga kill 1 cpu.rep(38k) is a game I played with SJE-Pfc4-Crazy against a computer in my map specially designed to support my favorite rush. While he did good, he didn't climb the tech tree as fast as I did, and I had to leave so of the computer's base so he wouldn't score so bad.
Giga and Vash kill 1 cpu.rep(36k) is a game I played with another friend of mine, Vashth3otaku, in which we both hit the computer really hard with my favorite rush. He really got up that tech tree fast!
Giga and Vash kick butt!.rep(67k) is a game I played with Vashth3otaku immediatly after the above game in a simple 4v3 cpu game. In this game, I played a slower variation of my favorite rush strategy, but it appears to be much more effective!
Bad Cpu.rep(63k) is a short little game. I was doing my favorite rush, but my ally killed the stupid cpu. I still scored the highest, and that's why I've posted this replay.
Gigafrost kicks butt2!.rep(79k) is a kinda long game. A 5v3 cpu game, I quickly dominated against the computer, and had such a strong grip on victory that my allies begged me not to kill of the cpu and to let it spread. I was so nice to them.
Giga and Final Lost Temple.rep(80k) is our first Lost Temple game. A 3v1 cpu rush, our ally, Superduffman, didn't fare too well. Why he left, we'll never know.
Giga vs 1 Lost Temple.rep(81k) is my second Lost Temple game. Originally, it was supposed to be a 2 on 2 game, but my ally, Finalfrost, was dropped, so one of the guys from the other team left. I lucked out so much in this game.
Giga & Final - Final dropped.rep(54k) is another 3v1 cpu rush, but Finalfrost got dropped, so it was up to me and MR_GRINCH to kill the cpu. All too easy.
Giga and Final kill 2cpus!!.rep(83k) is a 2 on 2cpus game me and Finalfrost played. I didn't use my favorite rush strategy, but instead tried to counter its weakness while Finalfrost used the strategy. It worked out well in the end.
3v1cpu Lost Temple.rep(81k) is a 3 on 1cpu game on the Lost Temple map that me and Finalfrost played. Not a very exciting game, since the computer decided it liked photon cannons.
3 Person FFA.rep(103k) is a 3 person ffa I played against two of my friends. I got rushed early in the game, and thus couldn't rush my other friend who did a carrier rush. I ended up rebuilding my base too many times, but somehow I managed to stay in there. I ended up hiding a pylon in the corner of the map, and the game thinks I won because both my friends' computers got rebooted due to a lightning storm that was passing through at the time.
Backstab Replays
Well, it's more replays, but all of these are backstabbing replays. I know, backstabbing is not only mean, unfair, and a waste of other people's time, but it's also a cheap way to win against other human players. I'm not really sure why we backstab in the first place, but I follow pretty strict backstabbing rules. First of all, I never sit there while everybody asks "Okay, whos the backstabber?" I just go straight to backstabbing. Second, if somebody complains about the backstabbing wasting their time, I'll stop the attacks almost immediatly. Finally, I NEVER EVER completely destroy a player on purpose. I always leave a few buildings so that player doesn't die. You'll notice the only players who really "die" are the ones that leave when they're attacked. Let this be a lesson to everybody (including me). Backstabbers behave unpredictably, so you should stay to the end because maybe they'll unpredictably ally with you at the end. With all that over, enjoy the replays! :)
Finalfrost backstabs allies.rep(74k) is a game my friend played online. He went online to play immediatly after we saw my favorite rush for the first time on a replay, and his intention was to do the rush, but he seemed a little preoccupied with his base and, when he left his keyboard for a little while, I took over, got the rush started immediatly, and after that, my friend killed the computer, and massacred his allies. Notice that he never finished off an ally and that, in the end, he allied with the one that stayed.
Giga and Final backstab.rep(55k) is the first game me and Finalfrost tried my favorite rush strategy together. Our poor ally was too far behind on the tech tree to do anything about it. :(
Giga and Final backstab2!.rep(61k) is the second game me and Finalfrost played my favorite rush strategy. Our allies didn't know what hit them, but Thin_Man shouldn't have left cause we wouldn't have completely destroyed his base. The terran ally played his disadvantage correctly, by (a) waiting to see what we would do and (b) talking about how "hot" the strategy was by stating his desire to be that good (we told him he could see the replay and copy very easily).
Giga and Final backstab3!.rep(57k) is the third game me and Finalfrost played my favorite rush strategy. This time, our allies tried their own rushes, but zealots aren't terribly effective against our rush, so even though they tried to destroy Finalfrost's base, they were unsuccessful, and immediatly left the game and chose not to wait it out.
Maps
Here are a few maps.
Code Red War Zone(170k) is a 256x256 8 player melee map. It's really weird.
Island Mineral Map(45k) is a little map I made that takes advantage of my favorite rush.
X-Men Evolvez(35k) is an evolution map based upon x-men. I may put a few replays of this map up soon.
Turret Defense Mixed(68k) is a turret defense game.
[8]The Fastest Map Ever(61k) is a melee map where the minerals start touching your base (i think).
Clan {SD} color money map(39k) is another melee map with minerals touching your base, but this one has neat colors.
[AW]$The Fastest $ Map eve(61k) is a neat map. This is the map I use when I want to play using my favorite rush strategy.
MP3s
That's right Starcraft MP3s are here! I have most of the MP3s, so if there's one here you don't see that you'd like me to put up, e-mail me!
Zerg(4.4 megs)
Radio Free Zerg(2.9 megs)
Other replay sites
http://www.nano.dk/ is a neat replay site. Download the Overwind(protoss) vs Evolvedmind(terran) to see the replay that inspired my favorite rush strategy.
http://www.scbackstab.com/ is a backstabber's replay site.
http://www.war3.de/replay/ is another cool replay site.
